Hailing from Southern California, 2 Cents look to make a dent in the ever populated metal market with their debut Dress to Kill and as an opening slot on the BLS Berserkus tour. 2 Cents is a modern hard rock/heavy metal band that packs a punch as fierce as Pantera or Killswitch Engage mixed with the melody of Chevelle.

Actually the band sounds like a cross between Mudvayne and Slipknot, but with a modern edge. Vocalist Adam O’Rourke can sing as angry as Chad Gray, and as precise as a pissed off Corey Taylor, which is evident on the track The Distance Traveled.

EXCERPT FROM: Rockandrollazine.com

Los Angeles, California’s 2Cents merge heavy metal and exterme metal with a bit of punk rock thrown in for an extra kick.

The music on Dressed To Kill is raucous, unruly and in your face. 2Cents are from the same era as the current crop of nu-metal bands that have inundated contemporary rock radio and in essence helped kill rock music…

However, 2Cents have proven that no matter how diluted things get there are bands out there that break away from the pack and are doing something original. It’s not impossible, granted it might be easier to follow the blue print of The Korns, Disturbs, Godsmacks and Mudvaynes than work at developing your own identity.

Don’t get me wrong 2Cents are far from old school in fact they are very contemporary; they are just very refreshing.

2Cents have a terrific booking agent, because the band always lands the types of tours that other bands would sacrifice their testicles in order to get. They’ve opened for Killswitch Engage, Five Finger Death Punch, Shadows Fall and Static-X to name a few, and they just wrapped up a tour supporting Korn. They’ll spend July and August with Seasons After and Taking Dawn before embarking on Black Label Society’s travelling circus, the newly-launched Berzerkus Tour.

“We are so strikingly good looking,” drummer/lead vocalist Adam O’Rourke told Noisecreep about his bands capacity to nail killer touring slots. “Just kidding. Our agent has gotten us on some pretty radical tours, and we’ve been nothing more than grateful and we are amazed that we were travelling as direct support for Korn! It was a good time.”
